The acclaimed children's opera company W11 Opera, based in West London, gave the premiere performances of Chincha-Chancha Cooroo in December 2006. Following previews in St James Norlands Church, the first performances were given in the Britten Theatre, Royal College of Music, London, on 9 and 10 December.
With a libretto by William Radice based a Bengali story by Upendrakishore Raychaudhuri, Chincha-Chancha Cooroo is an energetic new piece of music theatre, bringing to life the sights, sounds and rhythms of Indian village life.
